Gears of War 4 review - "Welcome home Mr. Fenix..."
JoyStik Entertainment video game reviews are honest opinions on the good, the bad, and the ugly of each and every video game. In this section, we review PlayStation, Xbox, and PC video games. Today, we will be looking at Gears of War 4 for Xbox One.
A new saga begins. After narrowly escaping an attack on their village, JD Fenix and his friends, Kait and Del, must rescue the ones they love and discover the source of a monstrous new enemy. Engage in a two-player co-op campaign with friends locally via split-screen, over Xbox Live or LAN. Player 2 can select either Kait or Del. Team up with four others and battle wave after wave of increasingly difficult enemies by choosing your combat class, leveling up your skills and deploying fortifications anywhere on the map. Compete online in new and favorite game types, all at 60fps on dedicated servers. A new visible ranking system means fairer matchmaking for social, competitive and professional players alike.
Story is great, leads in well after the latest in the series.
Game play and gun play are smooth. Attention to detail at the top of it's game.
Visually one of the prettiest surroundings in a video game on the Xbox One.
Has nothing to do with the game itself, but we loved the early access incentive to purchase to $100 version of the game.
Great multiplayer action yet again.
Would have liked to see more risk taking, but sticking to the roots is always good too.
Great for fans of the Gear of Wars series, but not much added for new fans.
Not a fan of JD (Marcus Fenix son, the new main player in the game), but the series did need SOMETHING new I guess.
